In some ways I enjoyed it more than the DD-200. Maybe I just haven't found a way to easily dial in my favorite sounds from the flashback 2 or their equivalent but the 2290 and tape delay were amazing on that pedal.

I used the tape delay on this track and it just felt great.

Tape delay flashback 2

The tone prints I just started tweaking and getting into but the stock presets were great. I may invest in another flashback 2 just to have the option, it may have to do with the easy layout and ease of dialing in a delay that's in 4/4 or whatever time signature I need. But yeah, had no problems with it in the 4 months I used it. The DD-200 is awesome but perhaps the increased sound quality has something to do with the repeats sounding "too good" if that makes sense. If I got another FB2 I would keep the DD-200, just employ them differently.

My Flashback 2 was turning on and off IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG at my gig last night... Very weird. I'm looking down at the board and the light is just coming on for about 3 seconds, turning off... Coming back on again 15 seconds later. Staying on 2 seconds then turning off again, with accompanying delay when the light is on. Pretty trippy. Running 9v. Firmware last updated 2021 - purchased new in late 2018. Never had a major issue before this, although now that I think about it when I go to the 3rd tone print the sound is engaged without having to turn the pedal on. It's just...always on. It can't be turned off. Wonder if these issues are related. My Wampler Terraform got overwhelmed (needed a reset) earlier the same day at a different gig so I wonder if the board saw some weird power... Running Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus. After the Terraform incident I got the board home, unplugged every pedal, and things seemed ok (Wampler told me the Terraform processor prefers 9v, even though the manual/pedal advertises 9-18v). Anyway, I put my Wampler Faux Tape Echo on my board for now, until I figure out what is going on.

It seems the newer TC stuff was made to be disposable/expendable. I have owned an Alter Ego V2 and and Alter Ego x4, both crapped out on me, started acting very strange. I loved the TC delay algorithms so much, I bought a new AEv2, and it was fine for awhile, but then it developed a problem: it's buffer started sounding very odd, like a cocked wah almost. So that pedal must stay in true bypass mode. But then I bought a THIRD Alter Ego v3, again because I love their delays, USED- because by then it had been discontinued. It seems to work fine still. But I would not expect them to keep working...

And now it doesn't really matter, as I have a Keeley HALO and a Boss RE-202, so I don't need the Alter Egos anymore, but they were great while they lasted... easy to use, I liked the "strum tempo", small, my favorite delay algorithms of all the big name players.... but TC ain't what it used to be, it seems.

To me this sounds like a power issue, make sure your DC plug is securely seated into the socket also the Voodoo Labs PP2+ outputs 1 - 4, 7, 8 supply 100mA of current, outputs 5,6 supply up to 250mA of current.
The FB2+ requires 100mA, but I am not certain how the PP2+ performs with many high current pedals - especially if you have it daisy chained with another pedal or more.
My suggestion is to try running it with a 9V DC (250mA rating or higher) wall-wart and see if there are any issues.

I've run my FB2+ with the Voodoo Lab 2+ for years with no issues - gigging and rehearsing.
I've since switched to the True Tone CS7 - still no issues.
My other 2 delays are the Boss DD-2 and Dunlop Echoplex but prefer the FlashBack 2 - 2290 setting and EP-3 New Tape tone print - both sound amazing.

I'll switch to output 5 just to be sure.

No issues since! Thanks.

Great! I had a similar experience with the Boss DD-20. Switching to the 250mA worked for me, too.
