Any pedals do that?
lots of them do. probably less likely that they wouldn’t have this feature.

Guess I’m unlucky - the El Cap, the Echosex, the Ibanez DE7, the Dispatch Master, the Space Spiral, the Ibanez ES3, the Avalanche Run, the Echosex 3, and the Flashback I have don’t let you make the wet signal louder than the dry signal.
Would genuinely appreciate any specific recommendations of pedals that do that.

Now I'm finding multi mode delay with tap tempo for playing U2 stuff like Streets, Pride, Bad etc and could also play songs other than U2. In my mind there are
-TC Flashback x4 : 2290 mode, 3 presets, but so huge
-Boss DD200: dual delay mode, 4 presets
-2 delays for make dual delay
-Other choices from above which you could recommend
Thanks
Boss DD-3T Digital Delay with tap tempo.

The Edge's tone is big money. Rack effects not to mention top-shelf Vox and Fender Tweeds.
The best I have used is a Helix. When you have the loops, delays, and effects in place, it is one monster of a chain.
There are ways to get something similar to his tone as people have shown here but it's not an easy one because of the multiple interactions going on.

The wet/dry signal is 50/50 at 3:00 on the el capistan. The El Cap can go 100 percent wet.
from the manual of the Avalanche Run “4. Mix: The is the volume control for the delay line. This blends in the wet with dry until 1 o’clock, 1 o’clock to 3 o’clock boosts the wet signal over the dry and 3 o’clock up brings down dry until it is fully wet when all the way up.”

I have owned and used most of the delays on the list. I have also used a lot of others, including a korg sdd-1200 rack unit.
The good choice here is the Eventide Timefactor. IMO it have the clarity, bounce, and detail needed. Plus it have proper dual delays on every algorithm.

ah perfect. I don’t have the El cap anymore, but I do have the avalanche run. I don’t use it as much as it was kind of complicated, but back on the board it goes! Thanks.

I have used a boss dd20 for 2 for years...use it for modulated short repeats...the meat and potatoes sound of his rhythmic delay playing...also used a tc electronic nova delay...both of these can be set to the right time digitally and tap delay...i like setting it to a specific number for the delay...
i also sometimes use a way huge supa puss but thats tap tempo only...the dd20 only holds so many setting so u2 stuff i dont play alot ill just tap tempo it...good skill to have to be able to tap tempo a delay to the drums
for the longer more atmospheric delay he also uses (2 delays) i use a boss dd3 or a hardwire digital delay, or really any delay

You're so cruel to point that out. Makes me want to hide in another time, another place. Like, idk, under shadows and tall trees or something. Or maybe a hill where there's only a single tree.

But God bless you for getting the Roland rack designation right, sir. The amount of times I have read 'it does the SDD-3000' on these forums (you did miss a zero tho).

Deluxe Memory man has 1st repeat above unity.
Boss DD-200 lets you dial in first repeat louder than original.
Strymon delays slightly duck original delay above unity, it’s infuriating tbh.

Strymon DIG lets you do that. It's wonderful for this. It's one of my gripes about the DD-200. Wish you could have some individual level control over the two delay lines in dual mode.

So, the thread came out a few months before we crossed over to the "Year of the Delay Pedals". With the most recent crop of delays released - DL4 II, RE-20x, Halo, that new Meris (coming soon?), impending Strymon updates - do/will any of these do it better?

I tried the dl4 mk2 for months. Couldn’t bond with it, even after studying the manual. Keen on the Keeley Halo right now.

Don’t forget the new Source Audio Nemisis ADT coming, too!

You should absolutely check out the UA starlight or the Del Mar which combines the golden reverb with the starlight. The starlight contains a 2290 style delay which the edge has used at some point, I believe on the Joshua tree, and a brilliant emulation of the deluxe memory man, best I’ve heard by a long shot. Sounded just as good as my big box, actually sold my big box to help afford my MIJ jag because I felt it was good enough (and I have the adg-1), there’s also an Echoplex emulation for good measure. Basically if you don’t have to have several presets and want perfect or as close to perfect as one could get in modern times emulation, buy the starlight or Del Mar.

I would look at the Boss SDE-3000 now since it’s out. Dual Delays and rack style, u2 city.

I love this type of use of delays. 2 seperate delays sounds like a nightmare to me. DD200 does the job very nicely. TC Nova delay absolutely nails it as well
